Fall quarter 2019 events

We kicked off the quarter on October 7th with a session on the importance of undergraduate research and how to best mentor new researchers.

Our next two events will be held at 12:00 pm in Storer 2342:

 

Monday, November 4th“Fortitude in the Face of Failure”

We’ll hear from Drs. Annie Schmitt, Kate Laskowski, and Santiago Ramirez about how they’ve persevered through times that don’t feel so great, plus strategies for resilience and ways to improve our academic environment.

 

Monday, December 2nd: Q&A with the UC Davis ADVANCE program co-director, Dr. Joanne Engebrecht, on increasing the participation/advancement  of women in science

 

All events will be held in 2342 Storer Hall at 12 pm, followed by a coffee social hour at 1:00 pm in the Tropical Room of Storer Hall. Join us and bring a mug!

Events for Spring quarter 2019

This spring, we’ll have two sessions:

  1. Managing your feelings of impostor syndrome (Wednesday, April 17th, 12:00 -1:00 pm in Storer Hall 2342)
  2. Optimizing graduate admissions for diversity, equity, and inclusion (Wednesday, May 15th, 12:00 – 1:00 pm in Storer Hall 2342)
